Nightporch terms of use
Effective September 27, 2026. Nightporch is made and operated by Zachary James Kane, an individual developer. Questions: nightporchhelp@gmail.com.
These terms cover the Nightporch app for iPhone, iPad and Mac and the free web version. They are short on purpose: what coins are, what the Shop sells, how refunds work, and how to treat other players.
The app licence
If you got Nightporch from Apple’s App Store, your use of the app is licensed under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement. Where the two disagree, Apple’s agreement applies.
Coins
You earn coins by playing and from achievements. In the app you can also buy coin packs through Apple.
- Coins have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, sold, given to another player or cashed out.
- Coins are only for buying looks in the Shop.
- A coin pack is used up as you spend it, so it cannot be restored like a one-time purchase.
- Your coins are kept on your device. When you are signed in to Game Center, your coin balance also follows you to your other devices. Coins kept only on one device are lost if its storage is cleared or the app is deleted.
The Shop sells looks only
Everything in the Shop changes how things look: colours, wall pieces, clothes, hairstyles and effects. Nothing it sells changes how the game plays, and nothing is random: you see what you get before you buy.
- Premium looks are one-time purchases through Apple. They stay with your Apple ID, and Restore purchases in the Shop brings them back on another device.
- Shop items are not part of Classic games.
- The web version sells nothing for money: its Shop takes only coins earned by playing.
Refunds
Every purchase in the app is made through Apple, and Apple handles refunds. To ask for one, use Apple’s Report a Problem page. The developer never sees your payment details and cannot issue a refund directly. If something you bought is missing, try Restore purchases in the Shop first, then write to the address above. If Apple refunds a premium look or effect, the game takes it back.
Playing together
Co-op puts you in other people’s towns and them in yours. When you play together:
- Be decent. Do not harass, threaten or bully anyone.
- Keep chat and names clean: nothing hateful, sexual or cruel, and no one’s personal details, your own included.
- Do not pretend to be another player or the developer.
- Do not use cheats, changed copies of the game or bugs to spoil someone else’s game or to get into their town.
Chat is filtered, but other players write it, not the developer. You can mute, block or report any player from the player list. Reports go to the developer, as the privacy policy describes.
Your towns
Your towns are saved on your device, and in the app also in your own iCloud through Game Center when you are signed in. The developer cannot see or recover them, so a town lost with a cleared device and no iCloud copy is gone.
Changes and contact
When these terms change, the effective date at the top changes with them. How Nightporch handles your data is in the privacy policy, and help is on the support page. Contact: Zachary James Kane, nightporchhelp@gmail.com.
