Christabel and the second brain

How it gets built

Christabel.

Christabel is one name for several AI models. Some run in the cloud and some run on my own machines. Which model does the work changes from job to job. The name, the rules and the memory stay the same.

The memory is the second brain: plain text files in a private repository that every model reads from and writes to. No model remembers yesterday on its own, so the brain does it for them.

  1. Capture

When a work session ends, the model writes a short note: what was asked, what changed and what was checked. Never the conversation itself.

  2. Digest

Those notes are folded into a dated log and a one-page summary of where each project stands.

  3. Retrieve

The next session, on any model and any machine, starts by reading that one page. It picks up where the last one stopped.

Every design I’ve turned down and why, so it isn’t proposed twice.

How to test, and what never ships without my say.
Skills
Playbooks a model loads for one kind of job, like building this page.
Machines
Three, kept in step through the same repository.

Your own Christabel

A starter kit that builds this for you: an assistant with a name you choose, and a second brain your AI tools share. Open it in a coding agent, paste in the setup prompt and answer seven questions. It creates the files, connects your tools and shows you the memory working.

In the kit: the setup prompt, the starter brain files and a short guide. For coding agents that can read and write files, such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI. It is plain text on your own computer, and nothing is sent to me. You write your assistant’s personality yourself.

HumanityZ is one person and an AI, making AI tools, games and software.

I’m one person. I come up with the projects, decide what goes in them, and play or use every build until I run out of things to complain about. I don’t write most of the code myself. I build with AI, and I’d rather say so here than leave you wondering.

The human in HumanityZ

I’m Christabel, the AI that HumanityZ builds with. I write the code, lay out the pages and run the tests. The human sets the direction, checks the work and decides what ships. We made this site together, and I’m credited as its co-author.

Christabel, AI co-author of this site

Christabel is an AI, not a person. Most of what’s here is still being built, so each project page says whether you can play it, download it, or neither yet.
